For our client, a multinational company in the construction sector, we are looking for an employee for the position of:
Contract Manager (f/m)
Responsibilities:
- Contract analysis and risk assessment in the pre-tender phase
- Supporting the operational management in contract negotiations with clients and establishing subcontracts
- Support in drafting internal and external agreements in cooperation with legal team
- Providing ongoing support to operational teams and construction sites regarding contractual matters, correspondence, claim management, and contract management
- Close cooperation with internal construction law lawyers through an integrated consulting approach across all project phases
- Acting as a liaison with the legal department and group-wide project management
- Providing consulting support during the project regarding construction economic and operational issues in the construction industry
- Interpreting construction contracts, particularly provisions related to deadlines, costs, and planning coordination
- Drafting and support in preparing notifications for delays and additional costs. i.e claims
- Analyzing complex deviations in work performance and their impact on the construction process, supporting the defense of claims (e.g., from clients and subcontractors), and participating in negotiations on additional claims
- Consulting the operational project teams regarding the documentation of events on the construction site for preparation of claims and variations
- Conducting training and seminars for operational units
Qualifications:
- Graduate degree in civil engineering or a similar construction-related field
- At least 5 years of work experience in the construction industry, including knowledge of the procedures and contractual structures of large construction projects
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English (minimum B2)
- Mobility and willingness to travel, with occasional short-term deployments to construction sites (2-5 days per month)
- Interest in construction law and construction economics
- Deep knowledge of FIDIC contracts
- Excellent computer skills (especially MS-Office and MS-Project)
- Valid category B driver’s license
